Three steps. Five minutes.
Stylist heat guide
- 250°F: fine, fragile or heavily lightened hair
- 300°F: fine to medium hair, or color-treated hair
- 350°F: healthy, medium-textured hair
- 375°F: healthy, coarse or resistant hair
- 400°F: maximum heat. Save it for very resistant, healthy hair only
Start low and go up only if the wave doesn't hold.
- Heat. Pick your setting. The waver is ready in about 60 seconds.
- Clamp and hold. Take a section and place your waver where you want your wave to start, then hold for 3 to 5 seconds. For more volume, start closer to the root.
- Move down. Release, line up with the last wave, and repeat to the ends.
Tip: Start with clean, dry hair and a heat protectant. Hold the waver by the handle, away from the buttons, and glance at the setting now and then so it stays where you want it. Let the waves cool before you touch them so they set. Every hair type is different, but most waves last until your next wash. Depending on your daily activities, you may need a quick touch-up in the morning. If you forget to turn it off, it shuts itself off after 60 minutes.
